NY to Maine...finally arrived

Well the ride from Tupper Lake NY to Plattsburgh NY on Hwy 3 was spectacular...nice wide, smooth highway, we rode 2 hours and saw only 3 cars!!! We had 2 deer run out in the road but were far enough in front that it wasn't a threat to us. The lakes and streams through upstate NY are beautiful. We arrived in Plattsburgh NY about 10:30 and went to the Harley dealer, Kelvin bought some new Wiley X sunglasses. Then we took the ferry across Lake Champlain to VT. Then we rode about 4 hours in VT and only went 68 miles!! We really don't what happened other than the 4 coffee shops we had to stop at. Going through Burlington VT was slow, it is a large city and was busy with traffic...I thought the ride through VT would be as nice as NY but it wasn't even close. Finally at about 3 pm we hit the NH state line. We rode a highway called the "Kangamagus Highway" and it was about equal to the Hwy 3 ride we had in NY. It winds through the National Forest and if you didn't know better you would swear you were in Smokey Mtn National Forest, looked about the same. We finally hit the Maine state line about 6:30 pm. We stopped and ate some dinner before crossing into Maine and then rode on to the town of Steep Falls, ME where we spent the night with my cousin Ginger.
This morning (Wed), we had coffee and conversation with Ginger, then Kelvin left for Grand Falls, Canada, where he will spend the rest of the week visiting his son and daughter and the grandchildren. I am hanging out here in Steep Falls for a day or so and visiting and photographing the local area. I have posted some photos taken along the way. Hope all is well back home...we are missing the girls for sure. Until next time....
